Our Projects
We support women led grassroots initiatives focused on ecosystems conservation and restoration. We partner with other non-profit organizations, both on and off the ground, who share our values and whose mission is aligned with ours, to support projects of proven impact and integrity.
Guinea (West Africa)
Sustainable Agriculture and Apiculture
We are supporting our Swiss partner Nouvelle Planète to implement a sustainable agriculture and apiculture project in Maléya Labifou village, sub-prefecture of Kolenté, Kindia region, Guinea (West Africa), together with an organized group of women from the local community. The project will improve the village’s food security and income, while caring for the soil, forest and ecosystem.
Kenya (Africa)
Habitat Recovery for Lion Conservation
Lion population in Kenya has decreased dramatically, due to habitat loss, conflict with humans, large-scale infrastructure projects, and climate change. We have partnered with the local NGO Ewaso Lions to support an organized group of local Samburu women called Mama Simba (Mothers of Lions). All year round Mama Simba perform habitat recovery tasks that are beneficial for the lions, the whole ecosystem, and the community.
Sumatra (Indonesia)
Indigenous Women Forest Patrol and Sanctuary Reforestation
We are supporting our local partner Nuraga Bhumi to strengthen their Indigenous Women Forest Patrol program, preventing illegal wild animals hunting and illegal logging, and to reforest a Sanctuary that used to be a palm oil plantation site. They are protecting and conserving rainforest land adjacent to the Gunung Leuser ecosystem world heritage site.
